"Kan den okände vandraren i Bibelns saga vara den mystiska mannen som fångade svenska nyhetsbyråns uppmärksamhet?"

Discussions also included an overview of the work of the WCC 11th Assembly in Karlsruhe in 2022 and the reception of the report of the Reference Group on Human Sexuality, entitled “Invitation to Journey Together on Matters of Human Sexuality” at the WCC central committee in 2022.

In 2023, the central committee of the World Council of Churches requested the general secretary to provide safe spaces for ecumenical learning and conversations on contested issues, especially on human sexuality with member churches and ecumenical partners who are open to dialogue on this matter, balancing the call of the assembly and the recommendations of the PCCC and to report on them to the governing bodies.

Pillay reflected that he valued the opportunity to deepen discussions with the group.  .

“It is important to foster ecumenical dialogue in a safe space on topics that are usually divisive,” he said.
